About Painted Desert Roofing
Painted Desert Roofing is a roofing marketing and lead-routing service connecting Arizona homeowners with ROC-licensed roofing contractors. We started in 2013 with one premise: most AZ roof problems don't need a full replacement, and most homeowners shouldn't be paying for one when a targeted repair will do the job.
Over a decade later, that's still the operating principle. We work with a small network of vetted roofing contractors — all R-42 or CR-42 licensed, all carrying current insurance — across the Phoenix metro, Tucson, and Northern Arizona. We don't perform work directly. We connect you to a contractor who can.
Why a marketing service?
Most homeowners don't know how to evaluate a roofer. The trade has more variance than most: skilled tile specialists versus inexperienced storm-chasers versus general-contractor-who-also-does-roofs versus genuine craft operators. The license alone doesn't tell you which you're getting.
Our model: we screen contractors against three criteria — active AZ ROC license (verified at roc.az.gov), current general liability insurance + workers' comp, and a track record on the specific roof system you have (tile vs. foam vs. shingle). We only refer to contractors who pass all three.
What we don't do
- We don't perform work directly. We're a marketing service. The licensed contractor does the work.
- We don't door-knock after storms. Storm-chasers do that. We're based in AZ and have been since 2013.
- We don't push replacement. Most calls end with a targeted repair. We let the homeowner decide; we don't pressure.
- We don't bill insurance. Acting on a homeowner's behalf with an insurance carrier is functionally public adjusting — a separately licensed trade in AZ. We document damage and provide estimates; you handle the carrier.
- We don't quote sight-unseen. No phone quotes. The licensed contractor walks the roof before any number is committed.

The trades we work with
Concrete tile — the AZ standard. Most of our work. Includes underlayment replacement, bond-line repair, valley work, flashing repair, tile replacement and matching.
Clay tile — older AZ stock (1920s-1970s adobe and Spanish revival). Different handling than concrete tile (more brittle, original profiles often discontinued).
Asphalt shingle — older central Phoenix, Tucson, Mesa stock. Wind damage repair, full re-roof at end of life.
Foam-elastomer — flat low-slope roofs, common on additions and modern infill. Recoat every 5-10 years, patch repair, full reapplication.
Metal — uncommon in the metro, more common in Flagstaff and the Northern AZ markets. Standing-seam repair and replacement.
Service area
Phoenix metro (Phoenix, Mesa, Tempe, Scottsdale, Chandler, Gilbert, Glendale, Peoria, Tucson area), and Flagstaff for the Northern AZ work. Outside those primary markets, we evaluate case-by-case.
